Please join us in welcoming Stacy Spexet to the Local Union Staff. Stacy brings her enthusiam and many years of experience to our Duluth Office. Stacy summarized her Union history, "I have been a health care worker since 1997 working as a Clinical Assistant for what is now Essentia Health. I had an opportunity to be involved in organizing our clinic in 1999 and with encouragement of a fellow coworker that saw potential I became more and more active. I have been a steward, board member and negotiated numerous contracts before becoming a member of UFCW 1189."
Nurses ratified new wage rates for RN and LPNs working at Good Samaritan's Austin facility. The Agreement increased the hiring and experience wage grid and provided the majority of nurses (those hired before 12/1/2017) with $ .65/hour increases. Nurses still in their first year of service with the company would receive increases equal to the new wage grid.
